Many fiduciary firms bill by the hour – and the invoice only arrives once the work is done. PROFINIO takes a different approach: we clarify your company's situation upfront, give you a fixed price for the agreed scope and discuss any changes before additional costs arise. This applies to a GmbH or AG just as much as to sole proprietorships and associations.

Fixed-price tax return: how it works
The price of a tax return depends less on the number of forms than on your company's situation: legal form, turnover, number of employees and, above all, the state of the bookkeeping determine the effort. That is why we ask about the key points upfront and set the price accordingly.

- Receive a binding fixed-price quote
- Upload your documents in the client portal

How much does a tax return for a GmbH or AG cost?
There is no one-size-fits-all figure, but the cost drivers are well known: legal form, turnover, number of employees and whether the annual financial statements are already available. If they are, the tax return is prepared quickly. If we also prepare the annual accounts, that effort is included in the price.
The calculator on this page takes exactly these factors into account and shows you a non-binding guide price. You receive the binding fixed price after a short conversation in which we clarify whether any special features apply – such as real estate, participations or permanent establishments in several cantons.
Tax returns for a GmbH or AG: what is involved
Corporations – the GmbH (limited liability company) and the AG (public limited company) – file their own tax return every year. It is based on the annual financial statements with balance sheet and income statement. Profit and capital are taxed; the rules of the canton where the company has its registered office and the direct federal tax apply.
For the tax return of your GmbH or AG, we check, among other things, depreciation and provisions, the distinction between business and private expenses, salaries and dividends paid to owners, and private use of company vehicles. This is where it is decided whether the tax authority will make adjustments.
If your annual financial statements are already available, the tax return is prepared quickly. If your receipts are in order, we can also prepare the financial statements on request. If the bookkeeping is not yet done, we catch up on it with you – this affects the price, but we quote it upfront.
Operating in several cantons: tax allocation
If your company has permanent establishments or real estate in several cantons, profit and capital are allocated among the cantons. Each canton taxes only its share. We prepare the tax allocation and make sure that nothing is taxed twice.
Sole proprietorships and the self-employed
For tax purposes, a sole proprietorship is not a separate person: the profit is declared in the owner's personal tax return, together with the business assets. The tax assessment also serves as the basis for AHV contributions on self-employed income. Mistakes therefore have a double impact.
We prepare the business accounts and the tax return together, so that the two match.
The documents we need
The more complete your documents, the sooner your return is finished. You upload everything in the client portal. We show you any missing documents in a list.
- Annual financial statements or accounts for the financial year
- Previous year's tax return and assessment
- Payroll records and salary certificates of the owners
- VAT returns and turnover reconciliation
- Bank and loan statements as at year end
- Minutes of the general meeting on the appropriation of profit
Deadlines and extensions
The deadline for filing the tax return is set by the canton; different dates often apply to companies than to individuals. In most cantons the deadline can be extended. If you miss it without an extension, you receive a reminder and risk a fine or an assessment at the tax authority's discretion.
As a PROFINIO client, you do not need to worry about this: we apply for extensions on your behalf, and you can see the dates in the client portal at any time.
After filing: checking the assessment
Filing the return is not quite the end of the job. If the assessment differs from the return, we check the reasons. If it is wrong, an objection can be lodged within a short deadline – which is why you should never file assessments away unopened.
Whether an objection is included in the fixed price or quoted separately is set out in the quote upfront.
Fiduciary services for SMEs from one source
The tax return is easiest when accounting, VAT, payroll and the annual accounts come from one source. Then the figures match from the start, and we spot early on where your figures are changing – and can alert you in good time.
Frequently asked questions
What does a fixed price for a tax return mean?
Before work starts, you receive a binding price for the agreed scope. There is no hourly billing. If new topics come up later, we discuss them with you before any additional costs arise.
How accurate is the calculator?
The calculator shows a non-binding guide price based on your information. We set the binding fixed price after a short conversation, once we know your company's situation and the documents.
How much does a tax return for a GmbH cost?
That depends mainly on turnover, the number of employees and the state of the bookkeeping. If the annual financial statements are already available, the effort is considerably lower. The calculator shows you a guide price for your situation.
Do you also prepare the annual financial statements?
Yes, on request. If your receipts are in order, we prepare the financial statements and then the tax return. If the bookkeeping is not yet done, we catch up on it with you and quote the effort upfront.
Can you apply for a deadline extension?
Yes. We apply for the extension with the tax authority and keep track of the new date. How long the deadline can be extended is determined by the canton.
Can you also prepare my personal tax return as the owner?
Yes. For owners of a GmbH or AG in particular, salary, dividends and personal taxes are closely linked. We look after both returns and align them with each other.
How do I submit the documents?
In the PROFINIO client portal. You upload the annual accounts, receipts and letters from the tax authority and can see at any time what is still missing and which deadline is coming up next.
Your finances and your administration do not have to be complicated.
